Nigel Who?

Nigel Holloway has been involved in theatre for as long as he can remember.  Over the years, he has performed in just about all of Gilbert and Sullivan's works, and has directed, produced and musically directed many others.  He claims that his theatrical career started with Orsino in Shakespeare's Twelth Night, and has gone down hill ever since.  His lowest point was this modern dress production of Die Fledermaus, where he played Eisenstein as a Hollywood film producer.  He has now stopped listing his principal roles in show programmes due to lack of available space!

He has written four novels, several plays for television, and many fictional serials for magazines.  He has also written a series of hilarious comedies for performance by amateur musical societies.  To find out more about these, and his other works, visit:

Several of The Off-the-Wall plays, including Ripping Off Angels, Prima Donna and Big Idea have been adapted as podcasts, and all the episodes can be downloaded from:

Nigel wrote this adaptation of A Christmas Carol for the Concept Players, an award-winning amateur group based in South East Wales, with a fine reputation for musical excellence and imaginative and creative staging.  The actual writing of the adaptation took three years from its inception to the UK premier.

Nigel has just completed a similar adaptation of the Beggar's Opera.  This new work is called The Savoy Beggar's Opera, and details can be found at the Savoy Beggar's Opera website

Nigel is currently working on a rock opera version of The Beggar's Opera, called the Beggar's Rock Opera!

He also writes novels - to discover more, click here!
